Tutor to Glenstrae probably became rightful Chief of Clan Gregor 1519 but the CAMPBELLs promoted instead the Gregarach chieftain of the Clan Dugall Ciar; nevertheless acted as leader of the clan 1528-45 during the next Chief's long minority and his descendants recovered the chiefship after 1774; d 6 March 1547
