  She was the eldest daughter of Lieutenant Turrell of the Royal Navy (The Courier, Hobart, Tas. : 1840 - 1859 Fri 23 Feb 1844 Page 2 Family Notices [http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/2951416] ) She was age 27 when she married in 1844 (Marriage [https://linctas.ent.sirsidynix.net.au/client/en_AU/names/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fNAME_INDEXES$002f0$002fNAME_INDEXES:831296/one] ) Sophia Louisa Turrell was born in France on 13th June 1813 and baptised on 4th July 1813 in Verdun, Meuse, Lorraine, France. She married Frederick George Hull in Newtown, Tasmania on 14th Feb 1844 and had a daughter Lucy Emily Hull born on 28th December that year. She had a son Wallace Frederick Louis Hull born in 1846, the same year her father died in England. Her son Wallace died in 1851 aged 4 or 5 and her mother died in Belgium the following year, 1852. Her daughter Lucy married and had children of her own. Sophia's brothers Charles Turrell and Arthur Belzoni Turrell migrated to New Zealand, the former being a minister and the latter a teacher. Arthur later moved to Australia, establishing a school in New South Wales where he taught French and English and working for the education department. Her brother Frederick Turrell migrated to Turkey as a French/English translator and established a private school in Smyrna (Izmir), the 'Smyrna College'. He raised a family in Turkey. Her brother Henry Stein Turrell remained in England where he obtained a PhD and developed the first training programs, assessments and accreditation for teachers. Sophia died in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia on 3rd February 1889 aged 75. She was a widow when she died.
