  The Mercury 12 October 1891 ST. GEORGE'S.- A very enjoyable enter- tainmont was given at St. George's school- room last Friday evening in aid of the piano fund,which consisted of the charade Beauty and the Beast, which passed off most suc- cessfully, reflecting great credit on the pro- moters. The characters were well taken, and showed how well they had been trained. The dresses also were extremely good, and the characters were taken thus:- Beauty, Miss Nora Marsden ; Beast (Prince Azor), H. E. Pike: Sister Anna, Miss May Dyer; Sister Lolo, Miss Lizzie Conner; Silver Star, Miss Lavinia Phillips ; Zimel, Master H. Grubb ; Fairies, G. Farlboy, Leila Smith, Vivian Graham, Daisy Graham, Ruth Butler, Bertie Batt, Linda Dyer, Daisy Israel ; concluding with some lantern slides shown by Mr. R. Shepherd, which were vary much appreciated by all present.Fix The Mercury 4 December 1900 BAND or HOPE.-The usual fortnightly meeting of the Davey-street Wesley¿n Band of Hope was held og Monday eve a ing; the attendance was very good. The chair was occupied by the president (Rev. J. E. Warren), who gave an in- teresting address. Songs, etc., ar- ranged by the assistant secretary (Mr.< Wilfred Osborne), were rendered, the following taking part : -Misses Myrtle Aspinalf, Linda Dyer, Essie Connor, Daphne Osborne, Lena Rometch, Con- stance Connor, E.
